Structural Steel Research

Your student could get a FREE registration to this Structures Congress workshop; see below for details and also plan to attend and join in the discussion yourself!

A limited number of free student registrations are available for the AISC- and NSF-supported workshop, “Innovation in Design of Steel Structures: Research Needs for Global Competitiveness” to be held Wednesday, March 28th in conjunction with the ASCE/SEI Structures Congress. The workshop, through moderated discussion, intends to bring together both leaders and emerging talent in the academic and design communities to specifically address the following:

What are the most promising areas of design innovation to increase US global competitiveness; and What fundamental questions about steel structural behavior, including response to extreme loads and resiliency, need answers to facilitate design innovation?

Graduate students involved in steel research may apply for free registration to the workshop by emailing a brief (maximum one paragraph) statement that provides an overview of their research and an idea for future research to Andrea Surovek, workshop chair, at This email address is being protected from spambots.
