Learn More About the NSF’s “Innovation Corps” Program
Have you been funded by the NSF as PI, Co-PI, Senior Personnel, Post Doc, Graduate Research Fellow, Center personnel or any other role that involved your receiving compensation from an award from a current grant or one that expired no more than five years ago? If so, you may be eligible for I-Corps support.
Briefly, while I-Corps does not fund research, it does target NSF researchers to receive additional support – in the form of entrepreneurial mentoring and funding – to accelerate tech-transfer and explore commercialization of research outcomes. Combining experience and guidance from established entrepreneurs with a targeted curriculum, I-Corps is a public-private partnership program that teaches grantees to identify valuable product opportunities that can emerge from academic research, and offers entrepreneurship training to student participants.
