What is NEESacademy?

NEESacademy is the online destination for education and outreach for the NEES network. This means you'll find videos, games and other multimedia, as well as information about what it takes to become an earthquake engineer.

What is available on NEESacademy?

NEESacademy is separated into four key sections that are tailored for our major audiences: students, teachers, professionals, and the public.

Teachers can find lessons, videos and other resources to bring engineering into the classroom. Professionals and NEES researchers will find training manuals, webinars, and links to our online collaboration software.

Presented in collaboration with NEES

This exhibition was developed by the Sciencenter in Ithica, NY with funding provided by the National Science Foundation as part of a NEES research grant to Cornell University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Visitors can learn about earthquakes and how they affect structures through a series of short videos.  In the future, internet users will be able to drive the shake table remotely and test a multi-story building in four different earthquakes.
