175th Anniversary of Civil Engineering Education  edit    delete

Description: October 14- 17 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) will celebrate 175 years of civil engineering education. In 1835, RPI became the first U.S. school to issue a civil engineering degree. Events include lectures by Wayne Clough – Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, Tarek Abdoun – Acting Department Head, Civil and Environmental Engineering and PI of the NEES@RPI site, and David Billington, Professor Emeritus, Princeton, as well as an open house at the Geo-Centrifuge Facility for Earthquake Simulation and Structural Dynamics. Events are free.
