About the Group

This group is dedicated to an NSF funded REU program in smart structures. This program provides undergraduate researchers with an international experience in Korea applying advanced technologies to structural engineering challenges. Students participate in symposia, conduct research on real projects in structural health monitoring and structural control, and learn and experience a foreign culture. The formal portion of this program consists of a 10 week summer program supporting six undergraduate researchers and one graduate student, consisting of four weeks here in the US at the University of South Carolina, University of Connecticut and University of Akron, and six weeks in South Korea at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
