In RDV 1.4, the behavior of the video playback window was changed to ensure only current video data gets displayed. Previously if no current video data was available RDV would display the last available video frame. This behavior was confusing and caused viewers to think they were seeing live video when they were not. To alleviate this problem RDV now displays a black screen during periods when no current video is available.
