Biography
Gregory Rodgers received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from The Pennsylvania State University in 1989. Dr. Rodgers held many positions at IBM including system programmer and computer-aided design (CAD) programmer working on parallel circuit simulation programs. He led the CAD environment for IBM POWER microprocessors. He started and led the team that ported Linux to POWER processors and supported Linux on PowerPC. Greg was Chief Architect for Hybrid HPC systems at IBM, including Marenostrum, Europes’s fastest machine 2004-2006, Big Red, The Indiana University Blade Supercomputer, and high performance military signal processors. He was involved with HPC Systems and solutions for over 25 years including programming, design, implementation and management. Dr Rodgers was a senior software engineer at Purdue University for the Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation(NEES). He recently rejoined IBM as a senior systems engineer working with Platform LSF and Platform Symphony. His current research interests include extreme HPC scaling, hybrid computing, and archive management with web services.
