  Kumar Pallav is a PhD candidate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University. His research interests include precision micro-machining of a variety of materials through ultra-short laser based processes. Before joining Northwestern University, he worked at the Engineering Research Center, TATA Motors Limited as an Assistant Manager, and was responsible for testing and validation of the design prototypes of heavy and medium commercial vehicles. He received his Bachelors in Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology, India in 2006.
