Two different shuttles are available to Quake Summit 2013 attendees.
QUAKE SUMMIT 2013 SHUTTLE
The Quake Summit Shuttle will run between the Silver Legacy Hotel and the University of Nevada campus at select times during the NEES Annual Meeting. During those times, the shuttles will pick up/drop off in the valet area of the hotel on the ground floor. On campus, the shuttles will pick up/drop off in the metered parking lot located off East 15th Street in front of the Joe Crowley Student Union, shown here. See below for the scheduled shuttle times or click here for a printable shuttle schedule.
The scheduled Quake Summit Shuttle times are as follows:
- Wednesday, August 7, 2013
- 6:30 – 8:30 am: Shuttles will pick up approximately every 15 minutes.
- 11:00 am – 1:00 pm: Shuttles will pick up approximately every 10 minutes.

SIERRA SPIRIT SHUTTLE
When the Quake Summit Shuttle is not running, the RTC Sierra Spirit travels between the university and downtown Reno. The regular fare is only $0.25 to ride one way and operates from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. The bus picks up every 15 minutes and the route is shown here. Pick up/drop off at the university is on the northwest corner of West Stadium and East 15th St (stop number 5). The pick up/drop off location nearest the Silver Legacy Hotel is on the west side of Virginia St. between 4th St and 5th St (stop number 13). This method of transportation may also be used if you stay in an alternate hotel in the downtown area.
The hotel and university are also within walking distance. It is a one mile walk between the Silver Legacy and Joe Crowley Student Union. However, the weather in August is warm (average daily high of 91 degrees), so plan accordingly.
Parking is free at the Silver Legacy Hotel. If you wish to park on campus, you may park on the top level of the Brian J. Whalen Parking Complex, shown on the campus map. Parking costs $7 per day and may be purchased on site.
