Supporting Haitian Infrastructure Reconstruction with Local Knowledge

Published on

The city of Léogâne, situated about 30km west of Port-au-Prince, suffered a devastating loss of human life and extensive damage and destruction from the January 12th earthquake. While full infrastructure reconstruction will require many years and billions of dollars, this project seeks to establish the importance of local knowledge and participation in the reconstruction process, focusing in particular on the challenges of building a sustainable and successful water and sanitation infrastructure.
