Abstract
In the NEESR FY09 solicitation (NSF 09-524), the National Science Foundation (NSF) will be awarding approximately $7 million for research proposals to use the NEES infrastructure to advance knowledge discovery and innovation for earthquake and tsunami loss reduction of our nation’s civil infrastructure, and to develop new experimental simulation techniques and instrumentation for NEES.
On February 6, 2009, Dr. Joy Pauschke from NSF discussed the latest solicitation, and Dr. Steve McCabe from NEESinc provided information about the NEES network and provided suggestions to write effective proposals.
Specifically, NSF discussed:
- Key components of the latest NEESR solicitation
- Changes from previous solicitations
- other issues related to the Network
NEESinc provided:
- An overview of NEES facilities
- Guidelines about how to interface with NEES network management and NEES Equipment Sites
- Tips to write effective proposals for research and EOT activities
