Abstract

The objective of this investigation was to study the response of ´strong beam´-´weak column´ (SBWC) frames to strong ground motions by means of a combined experimental and analytical program. Based on the computed displacement trends of SBWC frames, for the ground motions and frames considered, it is concluded that SBWC frames can be used safely in seismic zones.
