Times ran an exposé on the seismic safety of buildings in the Los Angeles area, referencing a NEES Grand Challenge research project led by Dr. Jack Moehle at the NEES@Berkeley site that identifed existing concrete buildings at risk of collapse in the event of an earthquake.
