inDEED - Creating an Index File
Do you have more than one data file format?
When you open a data file using inDEED, the tool must make a decision as to which mapping file (*.ind file) to use with that data file. If there is only one *.ind file in the folder with the data file or in the Trial or Experiment-level documentation folder, there is no problem. That is the mapping file that will be used. However, if you have more than one data file format and thus, more than one mapping file, you can use an index file to instruct the inDEED tool as to which mapping file to use with each data file.
Creating an index file
An index file is simply a text file with a .indx extension. Each line of the index file will contain a mapping file with its associated data file in the following format:
Where to place the index file
The easiest thing to do is to place the index file with the inDEED mapping files (*.ind files). If the mapping files are located in the data folder, place the index file in the data folders. If the mapping files are located in the trial-level or experiment-level documentation folder, place the index file in the trial-level or experiment-level documentation folder.
