Description: A 2/5 scale model of a 3-span, curved steel plate girder bridge was tested on multiple shake tables. This is the first of six experiments conducted on a highly curved bridge at University of Nevada Reno. The bridge in this experiment used conventional column and bearing details; thus, it is referred to as the conventional case or benchmark case. The purpose of this experiment is to determine the effect of curvature on seismic response and the limit states of a highly curved bridge when subjected to extreme seismic excitation.
