PEN Quick Start - Color Coding

by Rachelle Howell, Ian Mathew

Object/File Color Coding in the PEN Tool

The PEN tool color codes objects/files to make it easier to determine an object or file’s status at a glance. These color codes are grey, black, red, and blue.

ColorCode1.jpg

Grey

The file exists in the NEES Project Warehouse but not locally
Black

The file exists locally and in the NEES Project Warehouse, and the files are the same
Red

The file exists locally and in the NEES Project Warehouse, and the files may not be the same
Blue

The file exists locally but not in the NEES Project Warehouse

If you forget what the color codes mean, there is a dialog box within PEN (Help > Color Legend) that lists the colors and what they signify.
