upload paper citations to NEES and NSF reports at the sme time
At the Nov. 22 GB meeting during the discussion on capturing metrics for NEES, Glenn Rix remarked that it would be nice if the process for uploading papers to NEES would be the same as for uploading to NSF project reports system. As a NEESR awardee, having to do both separately is a hassle. I note that the NSF project awarrds system can take endnote formats. One possible “good way” to proceed would be to encourage researchers to upload their paper citation papers to NEES and then offer to give an endnote format back that can be plugged into NSF reports. This is a possible win-win in that NEES will collect a more complete set of NEES influenced papers and the NEES researchers will win by making their NSF reporting process easier. Joy Pauschke also noted that while the NSF reports system is not public, publications can be attached to the awards system.
