Seismic Instrumentation Technology Symposium

The Second Joint Seismology/Earthquake Engineering/DOD Symposium on Seismic Instrumentation Technology will take place in Albuquerque, NM on June 16 & 17. The goal of this symposium is to identify the needs of field operators. What are the technologies and issues that make deploying or operating instruments difficult, whether from observational capabilities (e.g., data quality, bandwidth, dynamic range, etc.), logistical needs, or O&M perspectives?

Speakers from relevant "user communities" (GSN, Transportable Array, PASSCAL, OBS, regional net operators, strong motion, structures) will offer perspectives on what is hard/expensive to do now, what they would like to be able to do, etc. Invited speakers will give talks on new technologies that are being used in other fields that should have applications to our problems.

Manufacturers are invited to bring posters that present their latest product lines. Each manufacturer will have an opportunity to make a short introduction to their poster prior to the poster session.
