Experiment Type: Tsunami Wave Basin
Description: This experiment investigated the interaction of a tsunami with a swell with a significant waveheight of 5cm and a peak period of 4 seconds. This condition has the lowest wave steepness of all the wave conditions tested; it was anticipated that evolution of the swell over the basin would be slow relative to other conditions, and thus interaction between this swell and the tsunami would be somewhat suppressed. The tsunami was inserted into the middle of the drive signal for the swell condition, thus allowing for interaction between incoming swell and reflected tsunami conditions.
